Introduction

The Secret of Ba from Tom Horn Gaming transports players to a mysterious world of ancient Egyptian mythology, where the symbol of the soul — the bird Ba — serves as the key to the secrets of the hidden world. This slot combines classic mechanics of the 'Book' format with a unique style from the developer and offers an engaging experience with high volatility and decent payouts.

Key Features

2. Mechanics: classic 'Book' format with expanding symbol in the free spins.
3. Volatility: high.
4. RTP: Up to 95.94%.
5. Maximum win: x500 of the bet.

Design and atmosphere

The Secret of Ba is designed in a dark, yet aesthetically rich Egyptian style. The symbols are set against the backdrop of an ancient temple adorned with columns and hieroglyphs, illuminated by a mystical light. The graphics are executed well for its time — clear symbols, smooth animations, and atmospheric color gamma (gold, bronze, dark blue). The sound accompaniment enhances the immersion effect: deep hits of the drums, sounds of the flute, and mystical music create a sense of journey through the realm of the dead.

Bonus functions and unique mechanics

Main bonus function — Free Spins:

• Activation: 3 or more symbols 'Book' in any position on the reels.
• Number of spins: 10 free spins.
• Feature: before the start of free spins, a random expanding symbol is selected. During the bonus, it can cover the entire reel and form winning combinations even without adjacent placement.
• Re-trigger: when three more 'Books' fall during free spins, an additional 10 spins are credited.

Other bonuses (mini-games, risk functions or collectible mechanics) are not in the slot — everything is focused solely on the base game and Free Spins.

Expert opinions and recommendations

The Secret of Ba — this is a reliable realization of the popular 'Book' format with an engaging theme and fair mathematics. Although the maximum win of x500 may seem modest by modern standards, high volatility ensures sharp emotions and rare, but significant payouts. Ideal for players who value simplicity and atmosphere.

Strategies for maximizing winnings

• Play in demo mode to understand the frequency of bonus activations.
• Use moderate bets (1–5% of bankroll), considering high volatility.
• Do not follow the bonus — the average frequency of its appearance is about 1 time in 100 spins (Hit Frequency ≈ 10.73%).
• It's better to have long sessions, as the main profile usually comes in free spins.

Mathematical model

1. RTP: 95.94% — slightly below the average level (96%), but still acceptable.
2. Volatility: high — indicates rare, but large wins.
3. Win frequency: ~10.73% (approximately 1 win for every 9–10 spins).
4. Maximum potential: x500 — limited, but achievable with a successful expanding symbol in the freespins.

2. Book of Ra (Novomatic) — classic of the genre, RTP up to 92.13%, but less generous mathematics.
3. Mystic Mirror (Red Tiger) — similar theme, but with additional bonuses and multipliers.
