Review of the Butterfly Staxx 2 gaming machine from NetEnt

Introduction

Butterfly Staxx 2 — this is a serene and visually pleasing video slot from the legendary provider NetEnt, released in August 2019. This is a continuation of the popular original, which retains its atmosphere, but adds new bonus mechanics for a richer gaming experience.

Key features of the slot

1. Low Volatility.
2. High RTP (96.35%).
3. The unique Butterfly Spins feature with expanding symbols.
4. Two bonus game modes: Free Spins and Butterfly Frenzy.
5. Maximum win up to 240x the bet.

Design and atmosphere

The slot immerses the player in a world of tranquility and the beauty of nature. The graphics are rendered in soft, pastel tones: a gentle pink background, green foliage, and bright colors create a feeling of a spring garden. The main characters are exquisite butterflies that flutter above the reels. The sound accompaniment corresponds to the theme: a calm, dreamy melody with barely audible rustling of wings enhances the overall impression of harmony and tranquility.

Bonus functions and unique mechanics

Butterfly Staxx 2 offers two key bonus features:

• Butterfly Spins: this firm mechanic activates when full stacks of butterflies appear on the first three reels. All butterflies turn into Wild symbols and expand across all reels to guarantee a big win. After this, a series of free respins begins until new combinations appear.
• Free Spins: activated by three or more Scatter symbols (roses). During free spins, only tokens and flowers appear on the reels. Tokens turn into butterflies, which can then trigger the Butterfly Spins feature.
• Butterfly Frenzy (Bonus Game): this is an alternative bonus that also activates with three Scatter symbols. The player receives 10 clicks to choose from the offered tokens and receive instant cash prizes.

Expert opinions and recommendations

Butterfly Staxx 2 is the ideal choice for beginners and those who value stable, yet modest wins. Due to low volatility, big jackpots are rare, so the gameplay will be lengthy and calm.

Strategies for maximizing winnings

• Bankroll management: with low volatility, you can allow yourself more spins. Divide your budget for a larger number of bets.
• Use demo mode: before playing for real money, try demo mode to understand the frequency of bonus payouts.
• Goal — bonus rounds: the main potential for winning is laid in the Butterfly Spins and Free Spins features. Focus on their activations.

Mathematical model

The slot has a high theoretical return (RTP) of 96.35%, which is above average for the market. Low volatility means that wins will be frequent, but, as a rule, modest. Big wins are almost exclusively possible in bonus rounds.

Compared to analogs

• Butterfly Staxx (original): the first slot has the same theme and basic Butterfly Spins mechanic, but a less developed bonus system and a smaller betting range.
• Starburst (NetEnt): another slot with low volatility and high RTP (96.09%), but with a completely different cosmic theme and Expanding Wilds mechanic.

Mobile version

Butterfly Staxx 2 is fully adapted for play on smartphones and tablets. Thanks to HTML5 technology, the slot works seamlessly on iOS and Android devices, preserving all visual effects and functionality of the desktop version.
