Review of the Extra Stars slot machine from Amusnet Interactive: a classic with jackpots

Introduction

Extra Stars — this is a video slot from the well-known developer Amusnet Interactive (formerly EGT), first released in July 2014. Regardless of age, the game remains popular due to its simplicity, recognizable fruit theme, and the presence of progressive jackpots.

Key features of the slot

1. 5 reels, 10 fixed paylines payout.
2. Average volatility and RTP 95.78%.
3. Expanding Wild symbol and respins.
4. Four progressive jackpots (Jackpot Cards).
5. Gamble feature for winnings.

Design and atmosphere

Extra Stars is designed in the style of classic fruit machines. The graphics are bright, but not overloaded: juicy watermelons, bananas, grapes, plums, apples, lemons, and cherries are complemented by a lucky red seven and a golden star. The sound accompaniment is laconic: melodic sounds during wins and classic 'bells' during bonus activations. Overall impression — nostalgic, but with modern features.

Bonus functions and unique mechanics

• Expanding Wild (Star): appears on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th reels, substitutes for all symbols and expands across the entire reel, activating respins.
• Jackpot Cards: a random bonus, triggered after any winning combination. The player is offered to select cards until 3 identical suits are revealed. Prizes: Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots.
• Gamble (Risk-game): after any win, you can double the prize by guessing the color of the card (red/black).
• Automated game: Autoplay function is available.

Free spins in Extra Stars are absent.

Expert opinions and recommendations

Extra Stars is an excellent choice for players who prefer stable, but not gigantic wins. Thanks to the average volatility, the payout is moderate.

Strategy tips

• Use risk-game carefully — it increases potential, but also the risk of loss.
• Jackpot Cards activate randomly, so place the maximum bet if the goal is to hit the Grand jackpot.
• Out of fixed 10 lines, changing the number of active lines makes no sense — the bet always covers the entire field.

Mathematical model

1. RTP 95.78% is slightly below average (96%), but typical for Amusnet slots.
2. Average volatility means moderate payouts, but frequent wins.
3. Chances of hitting the jackpot depend on the bet amount and random trigger.

Mobile version

Extra Stars is fully adapted for mobile devices. The game is correctly displayed on smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android, retaining all functions and graphics.

Pros and cons

Pros

1. Progressive jackpots (4 levels).
2. Expanding Wild with respins.
3. Classic, understandable mechanics.
4. Excellent mobile adaptation.

2. RTP below average (95.78%).
3. A total of 10 fixed lines — few for modern standards.
